Although thirty-four years have passed since the opening of Disneyland Paris theme park in France, a recent analysis of financial reports reveals that its parent company, Disney, has not yet been able to recover the £3.1 billion (US$4.2 billion) invested in it. Although it is currently considered one of Disney's most successful international centers outside of Europe among all Disneylands worldwide, it has faced numerous economic crises since its inception.

Opened to the public in 1992, this massive park complex currently attracts approximately 16 million tourists annually, and new features themed around 'Disney Adventure World' and the 'Frozen' movie have recently been added as part of its largest project. However, at the inception of this project, due to conditions imposed by the French government, Disney company only owned 49 percent of the shares, with the remaining shares being issued to the general public through the stock market.

Looking at the history of this park, it has only made a profit in 13 years since 1992, with a total loss reaching as high as US$3.7 billion. Due to reasons such as high ticket prices, the prohibition of alcohol in restaurants, and the primary use of the English language, it faced severe criticism from French tourists in its early days. Later, the global economic downturn and the collapse of the tourism industry due to the 9/11 attacks also severely impacted it. Especially after the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015, Euro Disney suffered a record loss of US$961.8 million in 2016. For this reason, in 2017, Disney made a firm decision to buy out all shares held by other shareholders, delist the company from the stock market, and take full ownership, which required them to invest billions more dollars. Although its financial situation is currently stabilizing to some extent after the pandemic, rising fuel prices and air travel costs due to the ongoing war in the Middle East are creating another challenging situation for the future.

Meanwhile, a unique natural phenomenon is reported: millions of orange-colored 'Painted Lady' butterflies are migrating towards Britain after 17 years. These butterflies, which begin their journey from the Sub-Saharan African region in the first half of every year, breed over several generations as they travel through North Africa and the Southern Mediterranean region, eventually reaching Northern Europe. This spring, due to favorable warm weather and wind currents in Southern Europe, the largest butterfly migration seen in about a decade has been observed from the east coast of Britain and various nature reserves. Environmentalists say that this number will further increase with new generations of butterflies emerging within Britain in the coming weeks, and this will be an excellent opportunity for the world's largest butterfly census, scheduled to be held in July with the participation of one hundred thousand volunteers.
