Prison authorities have launched a special investigation into an incident where all data and evidence contained in several mobile phones found in the possession of 'Commando Salintha', a prominent organized criminal detained at Boossa High-Security Prison, were deliberately erased by the Police Special Task Force.
Based on intelligence received that this criminal was operating various illegal activities using mobile phones from inside his prison cell, the Police Special Task Force launched an emergency search operation within Boossa Prison. During the operation, security forces were able to find several mobile phones in his possession, and the current investigation is underway to determine whether any officer immediately erased important evidence and information from these phones after the raid.
Meanwhile, when 'Commando Salintha's' mother visited him at the prison, she attempted to hand over a secret letter prepared to be sent to another powerful criminal, 'Kanjipani Imran'. However, prison officials' meticulous inspection led to the discovery of the letter, which was found to contain highly confidential information related to future crime plans and drug trafficking.
Against this backdrop, nine dangerous inmates who were engaged in illegal activities, including drug trafficking through their followers via phone and orchestrating various crimes while detained at Boossa High-Security Prison, were immediately transferred to the high-security prison located at Welisara Naval Camp. This group of securely transferred inmates includes several of the country's leading dangerous detainees such as 'Wele Suda', 'Bako Saman', and 'Dematagoda Chaminda'.
