Barry Drewitt-Barlow (57), considered Britain's first gay father, and his current partner Scott Hutchinson (32) have been brought before the court again under 18 new child abuse charges. Previously, both of them had faced several serious charges including rape, sexual assault, and human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
However, the police revealed these 18 new charges yesterday before they were presented to the Chelmsford Crown Court.Of these new charges, 15 are against Barry Drewitt-Barlow, including charges such as engaging in sexual activity with a child and paying for a child's sexual services. Additionally, they face charges of rape and forcing someone into sexual acts without consent. They became known in Britain as the first gay couple to have children via a surrogate mother with his first partner in 1999. The case is scheduled for trial in January next year, and until then, both have been remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, another report states that a sixty-year-old husband, accused of planning to drug his wife and rape her with 12 other men, has pleaded guilty to charges of sexually assaulting his wife. He pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault and distributing private photos committed between 2022 and 2023 during a trial at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester.
However, he has denied the charge of conspiring to drug his wife and subject her to a gang rape for approximately 20 years. The other 12 men accused of involvement in this crime have also denied the charges against them, including rape and sexual assault. Additionally, another fifty-year-old individual has previously pleaded guilty to four charges related to this crime. The further hearing of this case is scheduled to begin on September 1st and is expected to last for approximately 12 weeks.
