Being arrested at Charith's house in front of the triplets is not good for the personality of those children.

Holding a press conference of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya today, former Member of Parliament Buddhika Pathirana stated the following.

"As the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, an exemplary political movement, we believe in the rule of law. As I mentioned before, if any member of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, regardless of their rank, is accused of a criminal or civil offense within the legal process, they must face it.

In that process, proving their innocence with transparency or, if they have committed a crime, the task of punishing them falls to the court. We declare that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will naturally provide its full support for this. However, considering fundamental rights, as well as humanitarian conditions, there is a serious problem here. At the time of this arrest, there were triplets, approximately two and a half years old, at the home of our organizer, Mr. Charith Abeysinghe.

Educational scientists are of the opinion that a child's personality development is equally influenced by inherent factors, as well as their living environment, environmental conditions, and love. Therefore, we express our strong disgust and protest regarding the inhumane manner in which this arrest process was carried out, by coming to a house where small children, approximately three and a half years old, reside.

We would like to express our strong opposition to the inappropriate conduct of the police officers involved in this arrest. Furthermore, we express our disapproval of the distressed situation his wife and these three small children were placed in. We emphasize that if a person has committed an offense or faces an accusation, there are legal provisions and a morally civilized method that should be followed when arresting such an individual."
