The Pakistan Ministry of Interior has ordered a formal cybercrime investigation into serious allegations that several Cambridge examination papers have been leaked. Local media reports indicate that repeated security breaches during the current examination session have caused significant unrest and protest among students and parents.
The Ministry has instructed the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to immediately investigate and report on this incident, with the work to be carried out in collaboration with Cambridge International Education (CIE).In light of this situation, Cambridge authorities have postponed another mathematics paper scheduled for today, marking it as the second confirmed paper leak during this examination session. Cambridge has already confirmed that an AS Level mathematics paper held earlier this week was leaked. The Education Secretary emphasized that several Cambridge Ordinary Level (O-Level) and AS Level mathematics papers are suspected to have been compromised, causing severe mental distress to exam candidates and their families.
The decision to expedite these investigations was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha. The British Deputy High Commissioner, who attended the discussion, stated that this appears to be an organized 'theft' rather than a mere paper leak. However, Cambridge representatives declared that their institution always adheres to strict standards to safeguard the transparency and integrity of examinations. As the situation continues to be serious, Pakistani authorities have requested an urgent clarification from the examination board.
