The interviews held for several high-level positions in the Ministry of Health, including nine Deputy Director General positions, have been cancelled by the Public Service Commission. Accordingly, the applications invited and interviews held for 9 Deputy Director General positions, 19 Director positions, and the Additional Secretary (Public Health) position of the Ministry of Health have been cancelled by the Public Service Commission.
Sources from the Ministry of Health stated that this is the fifth time the selection of suitable candidates for the nine Deputy Director General positions has been cancelled. The same sources also stated that these positions have been vacant for over five years. The Public Service Commission has repeatedly changed the educational qualifications for recruitment to these positions, thereby cancelling those interviews
and calls for applications. As a result, the legitimate expectations of officers who had met the qualifications to obtain these positions have been shattered, the sources further stated.
