Hirunika spent 3 hours at the CID to talk about 'Kehelbaddara Padma' connections.

Yesterday (5), former Member of Parliament Hirunika Premachandra was summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). CID sources state that a statement was recorded from her for nearly three hours regarding allegations that she maintained connections with the currently detained underworld gang leader Mandinu Padmasiri Perera alias 'Kehelbadde Padme'.

According to the CID summons, Ms. Hirunika Premachandra appeared there around 9:30 AM, and after giving her statement, she left the institution around 12:30 PM. According to investigations being conducted into connections with the underworld gang leader 'Kehelbadde Padme', the CID had previously recorded statements from Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna MP Namal Rajapaksa and former Minister Prasanna Ranatunga.

Further investigations are underway regarding the incident, and a senior official of the Criminal Investigation Department stated that statements are expected to be recorded from several other former MPs and ministers. The CID is further investigating whether drug trafficking, other crimes, or illegal earnings were made through the connections maintained with 'Kehelbadde Padme'.
