A sixteen-year-old girl has been forced into prostitution in a spa.

The manager of a massage center (spa) was arrested by a team of Ragama Police officers on suspicion of employing a sixteen-year-old girl in prostitution at the said massage center. Police say that the sixteen-year-old minor girl who was employed at the massage center has been rescued.After the arrested manager of the massage center was produced before the Welisara Magistrate's Court the day before yesterday (9), she was ordered to be remanded until the 20th of this month. The girl was admitted to the North Colombo Ragama Teaching Hospital for a medical examination.

Based on information received by the Police 119 emergency call unit, a police team including Ragama Police Sergeant Jayatissa (52089) went to the said massage center located in the Ragama area, conducted investigations, rescued the girl, and arrested the manager on suspicion. Police are also conducting investigations to arrest the owner of this massage center.

Police also state that the minor girl was previously subjected to abuse by a young man said to be her boyfriend, and that the said young man was arrested by the police for allegedly possessing 'ice' drug and remanded.

It is said that after the young man, said to be her boyfriend, was remanded, another young man, said to be his friend, brought her to this massage center and handed her over. Police also stated that this was revealed during questioning of the girl. Police are conducting investigations to arrest the young man who allegedly took the minor girl to the massage center and handed her over. Police suspect that this young man, who is being sought for arrest, may have received money for handing the girl over to the massage center.
