3 killed in Ruwanwella Thaldduwa car-bike accident (video)

Three people have died in a fatal road accident that occurred this afternoon (08) in the Medagoda Thaldhuwa area, which belongs to the Ruwanwella Police Division. It is reported that two more people were seriously injured in this accident, which took place on the Thaldhuwa - Amitirigala road.

According to the police, the accident occurred when a car traveling from Amitirigala towards Thaldhuwa collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Preliminary investigations have revealed that after this head-on collision, the car lost control and overturned on the road.

At the time of the accident, the rider and pillion rider of the motorcycle, as well as three occupants of the car, sustained serious injuries. Local residents and the police immediately acted to admit all five injured individuals to Avissawella Base Hospital, and the police confirm that three of them died after being hospitalized.

Further investigations into the incident have currently been initiated by the Ruwanwella Police.
