Update: Teachers in three of the prefect's four videos, and the friend's mother in the other - an investigation by the Education Secretary.

Education Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa has ordered the principal of Nalanda College, a popular school located in the Colombo area, to immediately submit a report regarding the incident where a series of indecent video clips, allegedly involving the head prefect of the school and female teachers from the same college, were circulated on social media.

Scenes depicting the student, identified as the head prefect of the said school, engaging in nude and obscene activities while connecting via video technology with three female teachers from the same school and the mother of another student on several occasions, are currently circulating widely on social media.

The Education Secretary, stating that the Ministry of Education has given serious attention to these controversial video clips and the incident, emphasized that further investigations would be carried out based on the preliminary report provided by the principal, and thereafter, strict action would be taken against the parties involved in this incident.

However, the Education Secretary further stated that it is not possible to suspend the relevant teachers or take any other disciplinary action against them until the principal's official report is received.
