Today (27) Sri Lanka's dollar and gold prices

Data on foreign exchange rates and gold prices have been released according to Sri Lanka's financial market reports as of January 27, 2026. On that day, various buying and selling rates for the US dollar were observed across several major commercial banks in the country.At People's Bank, the buying price for a US dollar was recorded at Rs. 306.04 and the selling price at Rs. 312.79. Sampath Bank announced the buying price for a dollar as Rs. 306.25 and the selling price as Rs. 312.75. Seylan Bank's buying price for a dollar was Rs. 306.90, and its selling price was Rs. 311.65. According to Union Bank's reports, the buying price for a dollar was Rs. 306.00 and the selling price was Rs. 313.00, while Commercial Bank recorded the buying price for a US dollar at Rs. 304.33 and the selling price at Rs. 312.75. Additionally, Nations Trust Bank (NTB) reported a dollar's buying price at Rs. 304.41 and selling price at Rs. 314.69.




In addition to the US dollar, average exchange rates for other major foreign currencies were also published on that day. Accordingly, the average buying price for one Euro (EUR) was Rs. 358.78, and the selling price was Rs. 374.08. A British Pound (GBP) was recorded with a buying price of Rs. 413.18 and a selling price of Rs. 430.36. An Australian Dollar (AUD) was listed with a buying price of Rs. 206.64 and a selling price of Rs. 219.30, while an Indian Rupee (INR) had a buying price of Rs. 3.15 and a selling price of Rs. 3.42. A Canadian Dollar (CAD) was recorded with a buying value of Rs. 219.65 and a selling value of Rs. 229.65, and a Singapore Dollar (SGD) had a buying price of Rs. 236.67 and a selling price of Rs. 249.18. A Japanese Yen (JPY) unit was reported with a buying price of Rs. 1.95 and a selling price of Rs. 2.04, and a Swiss Franc (CHF) unit with a buying price of Rs. 382.90 and a selling price of Rs. 407.46.

Gold prices in the local market were also updated on that day, with prices determined based on average values from various market sources. The price of one gram of 24-karat gold was recorded at Rs. 50,730, and one gram of 22-karat gold at Rs. 46,505. Regarding gold sovereign prices, a 24-karat gold sovereign (8g) was Rs. 405,825, and a 22-karat gold sovereign was Rs. 372,040. Furthermore, the price of a 24-karat gold ounce was reported as Rs. 1,584,291, and a 22-karat gold ounce as Rs. 1,452,101. Gold pound prices were also announced, with a 24-karat gold pound recorded at Rs. 23,011,128 and a 22-karat gold pound at Rs. 21,093,468.
