Expanding its flight services between Sri Lanka and Singapore, Singapore Airlines has commenced additional daytime flights three days a week starting today (December 06). Mr. Wasantha Kudalaiyanage, the Managing Director of Singapore Airlines Sri Lanka, reported this.
It is noteworthy that Singapore Airlines, which will complete 52 years of flight services between Sri Lanka and Singapore by 2026, has added these new flights, further strengthening its operations.
Under the new flight schedule, a massive Airbus A350-900 passenger aircraft will arrive at Katunayake International Airport from Singapore's Changi International Airport at 10:45 AM every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
Until now, Singapore Airlines operated a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft daily at 11:30 PM from Changi International Airport to Katunayake.
As the first daytime flight to arrive at Katunayake Airport, Singapore Airlines flight SQ-463 arrived at Katunayake today at 10:45 AM with 210 passengers, 14 crew members, and 12 metric tons of cargo.
Subsequently, the aircraft departed from Katunayake at 12:45 PM for Singapore's Changi Airport, carrying 276 passengers, 14 crew members, and 14 metric tons of cargo.
Mr. Kudalaiyanage further stated that from May this year, Singapore Airlines is scheduled to operate two flights daily – one during the day and one at night – to Katunayake International Airport, seven days a week.
