A tense situation has erupted in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, after President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were arrested by a US special forces operation and taken to the United States. Following this incident, Delcy Rodriguez has been sworn in as Venezuela's interim president, but uncertainty has arisen regarding the security situation after US President Donald Trump declared that the country's control belongs to him.

Scenes showing armed police officers patrolling the streets of the capital Caracas have been released by Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello, and videos of security forces members shouting "Always loyal, never traitors" are also circulating online.

Gunshots were heard near the presidential palace at night, and according to discussions among security officials, it is suspected to be a response to the arrival of drones. However, most shops are currently closed, and the owners of the limited open shops are reportedly taking strict security measures, using dogs to protect their property and allowing only five customers at a time. The general public is afraid to go out on the streets, and there are reports that armed groups are stopping civilians, checking their mobile phones to see if they contain anything related to the current situation.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, currently in exile, has called Maduro's arrest "a giant step for humanity, freedom, and human dignity." Her party, the Vente Venezuela movement, is demanding the immediate release of all political prisoners in the country, and Machado states that she expects to return to Venezuela as soon as possible. However, she has emphasized that the interim president cannot be trusted, and fear and suspicion persist among the people due to many powerful figures from Maduro's regime still remaining in power.

Commenting on this operation, US Speaker Mike Johnson stated that it is not a declaration of war or an invasion, but merely a step taken to change the behavior of a regime involved in drug trafficking. Meanwhile, with this incident, the issue of Greenland's ownership has also resurfaced, with Trump repeatedly stating that Greenland is necessary for US national security. The United Nations Human Rights Office and several European countries, including France, have expressed their opposition, stating that this US military intervention violates the principles of international law, and China has also strongly criticized the US's actions.
