The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka, has published the revised timetable for the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination pertaining to the year 2025. According to this new timetable, the examinations are scheduled to be held from January 12, 2026, covering subjects missed due to the disaster.
This timetable, issued for the convenience of examination candidates, provides specific dates and times for subjects held in the morning and afternoon sessions, and it has been released under the approval of the Commissioner General of Examinations, Mrs. A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage.Commencing the examinations on Monday, January 12, 2026, the Home Economics II paper is scheduled from 08:30 AM to 11:40 AM, and the Information and Communication Technology I paper from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM. Subsequently, on Tuesday, January 13, Accounting II, Arabic II, and Chinese Language II will be held in the morning, while Sri Lankan History I and Malay Language II will be examined in the afternoon. On Wednesday, January 14, the Information and Communication Technology II paper is allocated for the morning, and Hindi I and Korean I language subjects for the afternoon.
Furthermore, on Friday, January 16, 2026, several subjects including Mathematics I, Further Mathematics I, Greek and Roman Civilization I, Russian I, and Japanese I are scheduled for the morning, with the Geography I paper in the afternoon. Examination activities will also take place on Saturday, January 17, with Mathematics II, Russian II, and Japanese II in the morning, and the Geography II paper in the afternoon.
Considering the final few days of the timetable, on Monday, January 19, the Hindi II and Korean II papers will be held in the morning, and the Communication and Media Studies I paper in the afternoon. On the final day shown in this timetable, Tuesday, January 20, the Department of Examinations has arranged for Further Mathematics II and Greek and Roman Civilization II subjects in the morning, and the Communication and Media Studies II paper in the afternoon.
