A person died after jumping from the third floor of Elpitiya Hospital.

Police state that a person committed suicide this morning by jumping from the third floor of the Elpitiya Base Hospital. The deceased is H.A., an 83-year-old resident of Koswathu Manana, Karandeniya.

Police have revealed that he is a father named Asoka Kularatne.

According to hospital sources, this 83-year-old father had received inpatient treatment in the first ward of Elpitiya Base Hospital due to a urinary disorder. He later recovered and was discharged from the hospital,

and was waiting at the hospital for family members to come and take him home. This morning, he committed suicide by jumping from a hospital ward window. Elpitiya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
