Around 7 AM on Sunday morning, Deepak's parents tried to wake him, but received no response from the room. After repeatedly knocking on the door without a response, they sought the help of neighbors to break down the door and enter the room. There, Deepak was found dead by hanging, a sight that deeply shocked his family members and neighbors. The police were subsequently informed about the incident, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.

Information has been revealed that the immediate cause of this tragedy was a video that went viral on social media. In the video, a woman accused the man of inappropriate behavior (allegedly 'jacking off') while traveling on a crowded bus. It is reported that these scenes were recorded while traveling from Payyanur railway station to the bus stand, and after being released online, it was viewed over 2 million times. Following the video's publicity, the deceased faced severe criticism and defamation from social media users.

Deepak's parents and relatives state that he was under severe mental distress after the video went viral. His family says that he was deeply traumatized, unable to bear the online defamation, trolling, and social backlash, and they emphasize that he had lived a life free of conflict. The deceased's parents accuse that their son's image was damaged with the aim of gaining popularity online, and it is believed that the judgment made by social media without a legal investigation led to this death.
