A heated situation near Gangodawila Court after the vehicle of the person who trafficked people, claiming to send them to Romania, was surrounded and attacked.

The owner of the Rainbow Manpower institution, suspected of defrauding over 900 million rupees from various individuals across the island by promising foreign jobs in Romania through his company, was remanded until today (30th) but was released on bail today. After his release by the Nugegoda Magistrate, aggrieved parties who were waiting near the Gangodawila court attacked the vehicle he was traveling in, causing a major commotion.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment stated that preliminary investigations revealed this suspect and his wife, operating a foreign employment agency named Rainbow Manpower, had committed a massive financial fraud by claiming to provide jobs in Romania.

Approximately 470 complaints had been received by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment against this suspect foreign employment agency owner for defrauding money by promising jobs in Romania, and the Bureau had handed over those complaints to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

In addition to this, over 400 more complaints have also been received by the Criminal Investigation Department, and he was initially arrested on October 30th last year and subsequently remanded.
