Several fraud complaints have been lodged with the Kollupitiya Police against "Brown Boy Presents," the organizers of the Ne-Yo concert, which was scheduled to be held on December 28, 2025, due to its sudden postponement.

Police stated that two complaints have been received, including one filed by the Cinnamon Grand Hotel regarding unpaid bills. These complaints are to be referred to the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau (CFIB) for further investigation.

The concert, which was scheduled to be held at the Sugathadasa Open-Air Stadium on December 28, 2025, was suddenly canceled due to "unforeseen circumstances."

It is reported that before the concert was canceled under suspicious circumstances, the organizers had sold tickets priced at Rs. 15,000 and above, generating significant revenue.

The controversy intensified with reports that the Sugathadasa Stadium management canceled the venue reservation after a check issued by the organizers bounced due to insufficient funds. Despite these financial irregularities, the organizers continued aggressive social media campaigns for ticket sales until the concert's cancellation. "Brown Boy Presents" issued a statement citing "unforeseen circumstances" and claimed that refunds would be processed via the "PickMe" app, but no specific dates or verified refund schedules have been provided to the public.

Public outrage has escalated with reports that the organizers have fled the country after the concert's cancellation, having defrauded the public.

Police sources stated that preliminary investigations have revealed that one unnamed organizer has fled the country.
