As a relief to the people affected by adverse weather, a consignment of canned fish was received by Sri Lanka from the Maldives today. This consignment consists of 25,000 boxes of canned tuna fish in 14 containers.
The Presidential Media Division stated that this food consignment was formally handed over to Colombo by the High Commissioner of Maldives. Representing Sri Lanka at the handover ceremony were Brigadier Roshan Dharmavikrama, Director Operations of the Disaster Management Centre, and Deputy Commodore Aruna Wijewardena.
