Gayathri Dias Appears Before CID on Kehelbaddara Case, Sidesteps Media

 Actress Gayathri Dias appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (24) to provide a statement. This summons was issued in connection with money laundering investigations being conducted into the suspect known as ‘Kehelbaddara Padme,’ who is currently in remand custody.

After remaining at the department for several hours and providing her statement, she departed around 2:15 PM. Speaking to the media at that time, she merely stated that the reason for her summons was a “public secret” and that she had provided the necessary answers to the questions posed by the investigating officers.

“There’s nothing for me to tell you. Because I have already provided the necessary answers to the questions.”

She further stated that she had come for a personal matter and did not wish to make unnecessary statements to the media. Having said that, she left without making any further comments to the media, simply saying 'Thank You'.
Previously, Piumi Hansamali also behaved similarly in connection with this incident, stating, 'Not everything needs to be said, brother... I came to file a complaint...' and then left that day.

 However, Gayathri Dias had previously posted on her Facebook account, stating that she was under severe attack on social media due to this incident and that society was “stoning” her. She had also presented various philosophical views on the matter.
Only Srimali Fonseka had stated that she was not at fault. This undisclosed matter is likely to increase suspicion towards Gayathri.

These investigations have been expanded following the circulation of information on social media suggesting that several popular actresses in the country had connections with Koralagamage Mandinu Padmasiri Perera, also known as 'Kehelbaddara Padme.'

Previously, actress Piumi Hansamali was also summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department and her statement was recorded in connection with this incident.
Actress Srimali Fonseka has also provided a statement regarding these investigations, mentioning that she was questioned based on a photograph taken at a New Year festival held in Dubai in 2022. She clarified to the media that she frequently travels to Dubai for business purposes and is not involved in money laundering.

Meanwhile, actress Heshani Liyadipita has also stated that she has no connection to this incident and will take legal action against those spreading false information on social media.
