An investigation committee, appointed under the leadership of former High Court Judge Sujatha Alahapperuma, has confirmed that an officer working in the Parliament's Information Systems and Management Department has been subjected to various injustices and discrimination.

Parliamentary sources state that the relevant investigation report was handed over to Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne yesterday (24) by the committee's chairperson, former High Court Judge Sujatha Alahapperuma.

The Speaker appointed this external investigation committee following a complaint lodged by an officer of the department. Previously, two internal committees were appointed to investigate the incident, but the complainant rejected the officials on those committees, leading to the decision to appoint an external committee.

Meanwhile, on a previous occasion, parliamentary authorities took action to dismiss three individuals, including an officer from the Parliament's Housekeeping Department, in connection with allegations of sexual harassment against a group of female employees in that department.
