Quite abruptly those infected with Corona in South Korea goes up -- 4 deaths!

Those infected by new corona virus in South Korea has gone upto 556. During the past 24 hours 229 infected persons were found from that country and 4 deaths were reported as the biggest number of deaths found in a country outside China. Because corona has begun to spread in South Korea a risk has cropped up as it is a country where the majority of Sri Lankans are employed. 

The number of those infected in China keeps decreasing while those infected by the new corona in
other countries keeps increasing which fact has been subjected to serious concern of World Health Organisation. Taking the situation into consideration, prime minister of South Korea has been declared as an emergency situation regarding public health. As such, Thegu and Chengdo cities are named as zones that should come under special attention. 

With that announcement, foreign media report that public moving about in public places and roads of Thegu city has dropped. Quarantine activities have commenced at public locations in those cities, it is to be observed. In the same way, the government of that country has banned holding public protests in the capital Seoul. With three army members being confirmed as being infected, foreign media reported that all army camps have been closed down in the city. It was after the funeral of a pastor of the Catholic denomination called Shinchonji in Thegu where a large number of its followers participated that the sudden increase of the patients in South Korea was reported. 

It was confirmed that 169 who attended the occasion were infected. The health and social welfare ministry of that country say that with this situation rearing its head, about 9300 persons who hold membership in that Catholic denomination have voluntarily requested to come forward for an examination. The Thegu branch of the relevant religious denomination too has been closed down. 

In the meantime. foreign affairs ministry who releases an announcement say that in order to confirm safety of Sri Lankans living in South Korea, close connections are maintained with Sri Lankan embassy in the city of Seoul and is on serious alert. While about 20,000 Sri Lankans live in South Korea, the number of Sri Lankans living in the city of Thegu are close upon 915, it is stated there. The consulate office there has confirmed that no Sri Lankan living there has been infected as such. In the same way, the ministry has announced several telephone numbers to secure any information about Sri Lankans living there. Those infected by the new corona virus by now has exceeded 7872 and the number of deaths total 2461.
