Mess up about restaurant near Gregory Wewa in which Navin was involved

Officers of urban development authority were taking action saying that a private restaurant belonging to a land of the UDA was an illegal structure and when these officers were involved in the matter last 21st, Mp of United National Party, Mr. Navin Dissanayaka who came on the scene argued with the officers which ultimately turned into heated situation.

He said that would not have the restaurant removed and to produce a court order according to the law.
He said that if it is removed by force, he would lie down there and police would have to come and take him away from there. So saying he was involved in an exchange of words in an aggressive manner with officers of urban development authority. On this occasion officers of the UDA tried to explain to the Mp that what they are doing is a duty entrusted to them and that the authority has powers to remove this restaurant and therefore to allow them to attend to it. However the Mp had kept on arguing. "If you want to remove the restaurant ... if the law is on your side ... bring a court order", he told the officers in an aggressive manner and what the officers said was that the authority possesses powers to do so.

After this incident a period of 48 hours was given for the restaurant to be removed, after which officers of urban development authority left the scene. In the meantime the owner of the restaurant told media that Mr. Navin Dissanayaka had come to that location without his notice. Though Mr. Navin Dissanayaka in this instance spoke in a hot-tempered manner .. he expressed his ideas in a civilised way. By now ideas and opinions are circulating, comparing dialogues of the Mp and the dialogue that ensued between state minister Sanath Nishantha and government officer Devani Jayathillaka recently.
