Shahen who lost mother - father from Katuwapitiya attack ... says he sees ghosts
There are some who spend their lives in this village who face various problems as an aftermath of the bomb attack launched on Katuwapitiya church. What follows is the story of young Shahen Kevinge aged 19 years living in Katuwapitiya village facing such circumstances.
"One day the three-wheeler started on its own. On another day lights of that three-wheeler came on automatically, explaining his problem Shahen began to say about the problem he was facing. Shahen
Kevin was living in Nugawela Road, Katuwapitiya with his mother, father and grandmother. The latter three of them got caught to the bomb and left only Kevin desolated.

At the moment when Shahen Kevin was isolated in this world, his parents had not transferred ownership of the house. They may have not had an idea of such a transfer maybe because their son was passing his 19th year. But by now ownership rights of the house now legally is his. However as the grandfather has taken away the deed of the property after the tragedy, he is in a quandary, it is said. It could be assumed that the grandfather may have taken away the deed and is keeping it in safe custody because Kevin is still following his studies.
According to the existing present situation, his conclusion is to leave the country. He however laments that as the ded is not in his possession prior to leaving abroad, he is not in a position to rent out the house. Bringing forth further matters in this connection he begins to come out with a strange story: "After mother, father and grandmother was lost, as I could not stay at home all alone ... I gave the house on rent and went to a relative's place. The people who occupied the house stayed in the house for two or three days and left the house saying that there are ghosts in the house. I rented out the house to another party. They too said the same thing and vacated the house. Only I can stay in this house.
The three-wheeler is my father's. On that occasion the three-wheeler was parked in front of the house. After 6 in the evening the three-wheeler can't be budged even an inch even by me. I hear various noises. One day the three-wheeler started on its own. On another day the lights lit up on its own. Because of these things this house can't be given to anybody. I have taken steps to go abroad. I will have to go abroad after closing up the house", Kevin finally said.
When questioned whether priests of the church were sounded about this, what Kevin said was that the fathers came and blessed and prayed and went away. What is signified by Shahen Kevin's story is another pathetic, tragic story which has come into place because of this bomb attack.
