'Jathika Urumayan Surekeeme Maha Sammelanaya' states that division of provinces in Sri Lanka as denoted in the grade five school text book carries imperfections. Chairman of the congress, Janaka Bodhinanda says that the two provinces, the North and the East is marked as one province. He said this at a media briefing held at Colombo public library yesterday (24).

"Though provinces are clearly marked with different  colours to signify the provinces in the English
grade five text book, students are led astray by using the same colour for the North and Eastern province. Apart from that the importance of provinces are denoted on page 5 of this book. The Dalada Maligawa and Singharaja are not marked.

Then on page 45 of this book, Wesak festival is mentioned a festival in our country. But Wesak is a religious tradition observed by us. To depict the historical heritage of the North Central province, at that point a child is shown keeping a football. What is seen by all this is as a part of a conspiracy. Education minister of the last regime should hold himself responsible for all this. What we ask from the present regime is to collect this book from all schools immediately", he said.
