3 Sri Lankan youth in Dubai prison for for 3 1/2 years for having shared photos of corpses of Easter attack
An incident is reported of three Sri Lankan youth subjected by Dubai court to imprisonment on charges of having shared a photo which appeared in the web site of the social network in relation to the Easter attack which took place on April 21st.
Two daughters of a relative of a Dubai security officer lost their lives from the Easter terrorist attack launched on Batticaloa church and these three young men have shared a photograph depicting the
manner in which those children had died. As a consequence of the anguish caused by this act, a complaint has been lodged in that connection and all three of them have been taken into custody according to the law of that land. This sentence has been given for not paying a fine close upon Rs. 8 lakhs.

Verdict to send them to jail was given by Dubai court on a resident of Mahawewa - Thoduwawa named W. Ramesh Fernando and two of his friends named Vishwa de Silva living in Galle and Gunadas Diron of Batticaloa. One of them have been in service at a tourist hotel in the Kingdom of Dubai as a security officer and the other two were engaged as lifesavers of the same hotel.
These three youth were apprehended by Dubai police at the hotel where they were attached to last November 4th on charges of having photos in their mobile phones, connected to the Easter attack being inserted into facebook. Later after they were produced before courts in that country the suspects were sent to remand prison till December 22nd and a fine each of Riyal 5 lakhs was imposed by court that day. As the youth failed to pay the fine concerned, the court in that country ordered them to be sent to remand prison for a period of 3 1/2 years.
