Mahinda Rajapaksa takes oaths as prime minister

Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa took his oaths as the 23rd prime minister of Sri Lanka this afternoon at president's secretariat in the presence of president Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. On this occasion several ministers and MPs were present including former president Maithripala Sirisena and
former prime minister Mr. Ranil Wickremasingha. 

In the meantime, Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa is expected to commence duties this afternoon at 3. This occasion marks the first instance where two brothers were installed as president and prime minister separately. Swearing in of the cabinet would be taking place tomorrow (22) and not today (21), it was reported.
