Permission not granted to Sajith for Sirikotha meeting -- has met supporters from Vauxhall Street

Though a media meeting was arranged by presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa of Eksath Jathika Peramuna today, no permission was granted for it and thus the media correspondents were informed that the venue has been changed. 

Under these circumstances Sajith has gone to his presidential operations office situated at Vauxhall
Street in Colombo and met the public and media correspondents there. It is reported that his supporters had come in a queue and have shared their sorrows with him (photos). It was seen some of them saying, "Don't isolate us ... it is you whom we want!" 

While Mr. Sajith Premadasa and Jalani were seen seated in chairs by the side of a table, several MPs of the UNP too were observed seated nearby. It is reported that in a short while he would be holding a media discussion and speaking about the future leadership. By now it is to be seen that the UNP has split in two and media meetings are being held at two places. The objective of one section is to have Sajith as the leader and make him the opposition leader while another section is against such a proposition.
