Motor car crashes into midst of Southern Expressway maintenance team -- one dead!

A team of workmen of Road Development Authority had been attending to maintenance-work on a railing in Southern Expressway when a motor vehicle which had been travelling at high speed has run over them, it was reported this morning. 

 After the collision one of the workmen had died while two sustained injuries. What police said was

that a motor vehicle which was travelling towards Colombo from the direction of Matara was responsible for having caused this accident of the workmen. The said accident has occured at 33.7 R area of the Expressway. The person who succumbed in this instance was about 50 years of age and was admitted to Nagoda hospital and a spokeswoman of the hospital said that he was already dead on admission.
