Two lawyers and law student who were drunk near Galle Face hotel ... taken into custody

Colpetty police say that two lawyers and a law student were taken into custody day before yesterday for having misbehaved by uttering harsh words and for behaving in an immodest manner. All three who were arrested were found highly intoxicated, police say. Police further said that while the three of them were enjoying liquor at a restaurant in Galle Road, Colpetty a person in the adjoining seat had turned towards the law student and had said
something. Later, when that person has left the restaurant the three of them had engaged in an argument with him and that person has been dealt some blows, police say. 

Subsequently, Colpetty police officers when trying to take the three of them into custody, they had then shown them their lawyer identity cards and have used harsh words on them disturbing their duties and it was with great difficulty action had to be taken to bring them to the police station, police say. Police further say that the three of them were taken to Kalubowila hospital that very night to produce them before a doctor to attend a medical examination when they had refused it and had turned aggressive at that moment. 

Police say that the two suspect lawyers and the law student would be produced before court on charges of misbehaving on a public road under the influence of liquor. Police also say that because of behaving in this manner there was some traffic congestion too as a result.
