Two VIP jeeps travelling had been travelling towards Colombo - Kandy main road and because a van had failed to allow them to pass, security officers who were in the jeep had attacked the said van. A WPCAD 8850 defender and WPCD 0550 Prado vehicle have been identified as the two VIP vehicles.
This conflict has flared up as the road concerned was under repair activity in Kalagedihena area and so the road was confined to one lane and a problem was thus created for not allowing room for the
vehicles to pass when there was no opportunity for it. Though the driver of the van had informed about this to police emergency unit, no information was found about the vehicles that fled from the scene after the said assault.
