Suicide-bomber, daughter of mudalali of Alawdeen Jewellers of Dematagoda, who was hiding when taking oaths ... had been ready for another attack

Police who are inquiring information connected to the Dematagoda attack were able to gather much various information about the woman who died there. Under normal circumstances it is rare that IS organisation use females as their attackers and in this case it is of special importance to note that their Sri Lankan representatives of that organisation have deployed a female in addition to males, thus
trying out a fresh move. 

She incidentally is Fathima Ilham, the wife of a son, Mohammed Ibrahim Ilham Ahamad of spice businessman. The husband was connected to the blast at Shangri-La Hotel while his elder brother was connected to the blast at Cinnamon Grand. During that period, she and the colleagues were at the house down Mahawila Gardens, Dematagoda. This was a housing complex consisting 8 houses and was inhabited by the said spice dealer and relatives while she living in the ancestral home. This house consisted of 6 bedrooms and several members of this spice businessman have taken refuge as families, it is said.  

She was a daughter in law of this spice dealer and when police raided the house concerned, because of the first attack launched, three police officers faced death. In the second instance she launched the attack by standing under a slab, it is learned and unexpectedly the slap has collapsed bringing death to this assailant who was pregnant and two small sons. 

She has launched this attack because of the presence of the police and she may have had a suicide bomb attack at a later date; but since she could not escape from police, she may have committed suicide as there was no other alternative, investigation officers suspect. 

After having died in this manner, according to inquiries conducted about Fathima Ilham, information was found that she is the daughter of Alawdeen and he has been running a jewellery shop by the name, Alawdeen Jewellers" in Pettah. 

Alawdeen happens to be a brother of minister Bathiudeen's mother and also the treasurer of his political party.  It is said that he owns two houses in Singapore, Malaysia and Mannar. Police suspect that before the suicide attack, on one occasion where in the video which was captured taking oaths together with Saharan seen with a crowd dressed in black, it could be this deceased Fathima Ilham who in one instance stands back hiding her body and is seen keeping her hand on top, wearing a bracelet. She was not successful in launching her attack as she wanted and it ended up with three police officers and children losing their life in the process.
