President names acting IGP instead of Pujith

In the instance that inspector of police, Mr. Pujith Jayasundera did not resign, the President appointed senior deputy general of police, Mr. C.D. Wickramaratna this morning as the acting IGP, the relevant media unit informs. In the instance that Mr. Pujith Jayasundera as gone on compulsory leave during the period he has travelled abroad. 

Since an inquiry is taking place in respect of the attack launched on Easter Sunday, Mr. Pujith
Jayasundera has been sent on compulsory leave and he is to be reinstated only on forwarding reasons in the connection. Apart from that, former inspector general of police, Mr. N.K. Ilangakoon has been appointed as an advisor of the ministry. Other than those two appointments, Mr. Jayantha Jayasuriya has been appointed as the new chief justice and has taken his oaths in presence of President Maithripala Sirisena and attorney general, Presidents Counsel Mr. Dippula de Silva has been appointed as working attorney general. In the process, additional auditor general Mr. Chulantha Wickramaratna has been named as new auditor general. All appointees have accepted appointment letters from President Maithripala Sirisena, media units inform.
