"I lost the house which  I wanted to get on rent ... because of 'Deveni Inima' -- Aruni Mendis

Aruni Mendis who gives life to the wicked character called Nilu of Deveni Inima which is a popular teledrama being broadcast these days had to face a mishap recently because of having understood cunningness and wickedness as reflected by the role she plays. 

She has revealed about this to a weekend newspaper. "This is an experience which I have had to undergo because of Nilu's character which I act in now. Fans love characters in Deveni Inima. Some days back I wanted to find a new lodging-place. I browsed through a list of advertisements in the
internet advertising houses on rent and then found a place which I thought was suitable for me. I immediately called a telephone number mentioned there. It was a lady who spoke at the other end. I did not give a full introduction to her about me as such. But I said that I was someone attached to the media. What she told was for me to come on a free time and take a decision after seeing the house. 

It was during that period that Nilu was pestering her husband to acquire Amisha's home as her home. On the other hand I went to see the annexe at a time I was free. The moment the householder lady set eyes upon me she with an apparent surprise said "Ahh!" which meant that she identified me. 

Without giving any notice to that I said that I wished to see the annexe on rent. Though I looked around the annexe ... what the lady said was, "For you of course I can't give the house on rent". What I thought was that she said that in fun. But she happened to repeat it. Then when I asked as to why ... she point-blank said that, "If I give the house on rent ... you will acquire our houses also!" I did not utter a single word but left the place".
