Arjuna makes lightening visit to Katunayaka Airport in night ... and sees empty seats at counters

Minister of Civil Aviation Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga took steps to make a lightning visit to Katunayaka Airport on midnight of 23rd. On that occasion he remarked that he in no was is satisfied with the service rendered to passengers at Katunayaka Bandaranaika International Airport. Taking into consideration such factors he also said that in future action will be taken to launch a number of special projects to improve facilities by Airport and
Aviation (Sri Lanka) Company. 

What Minister Mr. Arjuna Ranatunga said on this occasion was, "Not only as minister ... even as an ordinary passenger too I have understood this issue for quite sometime. I was able to survey a big shortage of human resources of companies today. Some counters are closed. Their representatives are not present to to guide passengers. Passengers are confused ... going here and there. It is not only arning funds that an airline company is expected of ... they should think of passengers also. So, with the motive of finding a solution, I and Minister Vajira Abeywardena hope to discuss this matter with the President and Prime Minister in future".
