victory of tournament to Sri Lanka!

The Sri Lanka - South Africa Test tournament comprising two Tests was won by Sri Lanka. Thus being able to trounce South Africa in both Tests made Sri Lanka winners of the tournament. This then is a moment of of opening a new page in Test cricket history for Sri Lanka. 

The second match was won by Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. The first Test played at Port Elizabeth saw South Africa being dismissed for 222 runs after South Africa batting first in the match. Sri Lanka on
the other hand could muster up only 154 runs in the first innings. South Africa who were 68 runs ahead than Sri Lanka's total in the first innings. But Sri Lankan bowlers were successful in finishing off their innings for 128 runs. Thus Sri Lanka was faced with a total of 197 runs to clinch victory. Sri Lankan batsmen who pursued that target were 2 wickets down; but passed the target recording a historic win. 

On this occasion Kusal Mendis and Oshada Fernando rode the boat towards victory at the essential hour by playing a wonderful innings shared by both of them ... and unbeaten for that matter. Kusal Mendis who was unsuccessful throughout the tournament happened to collect 84 runs and Oshada Fernando who played his second Test scored 75 runs. This victory acquired by Sri Lanka for the tournament will be etched in record books for the reason that this is the first Asian team to win a Test tournament in South Africa itself.
