Yatinuwara building catching fire ... because of robbery? 

Fire first starts in salon

Suspicions have emerged in the minds of police who are engaged in investigations as to whether the fire that broke out in the six-floor building down Yatinuwara street in Kandy about which attention of the country was focused on, was an act of sabotage of a person who had been responsible for a robbery or whether it was the act of of a single individual. 

Information has been revealed by now that the six-floor building in Yatinuwara Street, Kandy has initially caught fire in a salon there. According to the first statement given to police by the Tami
l national Raj Ram who managed to rescue his whole family when a tragedy was nigh because of the fire, though there were no shops etcetera opening for business even before 7 in the morning on the day of this tragedy, he had seen an unknown person entering a salon situated there. As this Tamil national has tried to go towards that place on a suspicion he had within him, he had noticed a fire breaking out at that spot. Raj Ram says that he suspects that the person concerned has made an attempt to cover up evidence of a theft he had done, as a result of which the fire has originated. 

Police have inquired into other evidence about this incident to recover reasons for the fire and when checking on the security camera system and Mr. Raj Ram who managed to save his life is noticed coming into this building and as such, police informs that the statement given by him about the fire is accurate. 

Whatever it is, a thief entering according to Ram Raj who breaks the salon at the bottom floor has not been captured on camera as such. Police officers are engaging in further investigations about it and are interrogating several people involved in business activities in that building and suspicion has been raised about telephone conversations that had taken place among some persons engaged in business activities in that building at the moment the fire has erupted. Though a specific suspicion has emerged about this fire, until the government analyst report is received, it cannot be confirmed definitely, police has informed.
