Question from Britain about which national flag carries Lion?
What was queried in the pounds one lakh fifty thousand question broadcast last January 2nd at the question and answer programme 'Who wants to be a millionaire?' broadcast over ITN channel in Britain was 'What is the country that carried the emblem of a lion in its national flag?' Maldova, Albania, Zambia and Sri Lanka were given as options to select from.
The questions were directed to a lady contestant. Though she did not come out with an answer at that moment spontaneously as such, she replies saying that she assumes that it is either Zambia or Sri
Lanka. At that moment, in order to baffle the contestant, the announcer has said that though it has been heard that there are elephants and tigers in Sri Lanka ... to give a second thought as to whether it is heard about lions too.
Lanka. At that moment, in order to baffle the contestant, the announcer has said that though it has been heard that there are elephants and tigers in Sri Lanka ... to give a second thought as to whether it is heard about lions too.
Whatever it is, the contestant has in the end said that the country starting with the letter 'S' , which is Sri Lanka, would be the correct answer. With that answer she manages to qualify for the next question which which offered her pounds two lakhs fifty thousand as she has given the correct answer. However, unfortunately when she was just two questions away from the final question which was to bring her one million pounds ... she lost the competition.
