Tsunami Baby 81 ... now 14 years!
Attention the world over was focused on a toddler of Kalmunai area as he had disappeared for 52 days from the Tsunami tragedy fourteen years before this. Nine mothers visited Kalmunai hospital seeking rights of Jeyaraja Abhilash who was famous all over the world as 'Baby 81'.
At one time a couple had even attempted to kidnap the said child by saying that the child belonged to
them and in the end it was Kalmunai Magistrate Court that had to solve the issue. Later on both Jenita Jeyaraja and Murugapillai Jeyaraja who attempted the said abduction were given possession of the child after a DNA inspection carried out by Gintech Institute, Borella with support of UNICEF.

'Baby 81' or Jeyaraja Abhilash about whom the whole world was talking about joined in the Tsunami commemoration yesterday (26) on the day 14 years has elapsed after the tragic incident. He is now 14 years of age. He lives in Karukalmadam in Batticaloa and is studying in Batticaloa Settipalayam Vidyalaya. What he said by addressing the media was that he has no memory about Tsunami but that he has found out information about it from his parents. The relevant video, from below
