Criticisms against Susanthika who looked down upon victorious Parami

Parami Wasanthi Maristella of Chilaw who won a bronze medal in athletics at Youth Olympics tournament which came to an end a few days ago and thus brought honour to Sri Lanka received great publicity on her achievement and much publicity was given across the media by her parents about financial difficulties she faced. As a result of it, the government has intervened on Parami, still a schoolgirl, to open a bank account of 15 lakhs and provide a cash sum of 75000 every month. The
media has announced that she would be getting 2 houses also.

When the situation was such, distinguished athlete Susanthika Jayasingha who was in charge of the participants had accompanied them to Argentina had on her return to the island addressed the media about this victory disdainfully at Katunayaka Airport. Words of Susanthika which had been uttered with derision comparing herself and Parami looking down on privileges Parami is already is receiving have been criticised by social media as something mixed with jealousy and disparaging. She has in fact spoken about Parami ... without mentioning latter's name.

"Though this one gets seventy-five thousand after winning a junior event ... i got seventy-five thousand when I went for the Olympic Games" is her argument. Her second argument is, "When you go to see the frustrations I suffered to come to a level with Darsha, Kulavansha ... these ones already have facilities even more than they need. There's nothing more that they need". What she said, from below
