Children rescued from cave in Thailand ...
for temporary ordination
Boys belonging to a football team who were rescued after being trapped inside a cave in Thailand for a period of 9 days obtained temporary ordination day-before-yesterday.
According to the tradition of Thailand, this ordination ceremony is performed once a lifetime in order to reminisce the "disaster era", as a custom. While entering this monkhood, though advice was provided to all of them to pacify the
pressure they underwent during the past, they have been motivated to engage in this activity without any delay.

Only 11 children from the total number of 12 entered the procedure of ordination as the other belonged to the Christian faith. Even their coach followed the ordination process. This ordination would be effective temporarily for 9 days. Even parents of these children believe that through this process the children would be able to obtain "spiritual cleanliness". Close upon 200 were ordained day-before-yesterday evening and on that occasion these children too were simultaneously made to participate in the proceedings and parents of these children too joined in. During the ceremony, a special pooja was conducted in memory of Saman Gunan who gave his life on behalf of the victims.
