People in South perplexed ... having seen something akin to a shooting star

An object similar to a shooting star which is supposed to have appeared in various places in the Southern region at about 9 this night has created some rumours. Neighbours remark that a certain object emanating a large bright light had dragged along with great speed and had sensed that this

object falling on their roofs and trees creating a big sound as if a hail of dust was falling.

The areas where this dazzling light and noise was heard are Galle, Habaraduwa, Matara, Pitabeddara, Akuressa, Neluwa, Thawalama, Hakmana and Deniyaya. Some others say that they observed that some yellow, circular object, the size of a volleyball falling into the sea. Rumours are already circulating that it could be a shooting star, meteorite or a UFO. The Air Force has announced that this is not a plane accident. What Dr. Chandana Jayaratna states is that this is a meteorite which landed on the Southern coast.
