2 wives come forward to claim Samayan's body.
Funeral house deserted
Dead body of underworld leader Samayan who was killed brutally from gunshots day-before-yesterday in Kalutara is lying at a relative's house of Samayan's legal wife Sugandhi Caldera in Gonawela, Pattiwela, Kelaniya, it is reported.
During the last phase of Samayan's life he had left his legal wife and 2 children and had gone with another woman and the latter who lives in Kaduwela had come close to the spot where the prison bus
was after the shooting and had started wailing that the 3rd anniversary of both she and Samayan fell the day-before-yesterday. Whatever it is, though she wanted to accept the responsibility over his body, she was not permitted to do so as she was not his legal wife. Thus the body was not allowed to be taken to Kaduwela where Samayan was living and instead it was taken to Kelaniya, Pattiwela area yesterday (28) where the true married wife was living, the police said. Though the body was taken to the house at Pattiwela where Samayan's legal wife and 2 children were, police say that apart from relatives of the family and a few others, a large number of people had avoided attending the funeral. It was said that since he was an underworld criminal, those who were connected to him were scared.
Samayan's first wedding in fact took place some years before this. He had actually covered up information about his legal marriage and children at the interview he had with a national newspaper in 2015 but had given false information speaking only about 1 child instead of 2 children and that he got married in 2014. (It may sometimes be about the second marriage). Whatever it is, more credible news sources say that he was someone who carried on matrimonial life without caring much about the family unit. It was families of Angoda and Nawagamuwa who died as a result of Samayan who lit crackers both yesterday and day-before-yesterday to coincide with Samayan's departure. In the meantime the already suspected Angoda Lokka's family had prepared milk-rice to rejoice the occasion, it was reported.
