Deepal Silva a popular comedian and singer passed away this morning at Ragama Hospital.
He became popular also because of well-known songs such as "E rate minissu thanikara kelinne pissu", "Maduruwanta enna kiyamu mal peni bonna" "Ada nokara katha inne
mokada kiya" and for having brought life to Sergeant Nallathambi character on stage after the death of Mr. Nihal Silva. He started his humorous performances in the 1990 decade and was born on November 20th 1967. He was a character whom the audience could not do without. Ragama Hospital sources said that he had passed away because of a sickly condition which aggravated within a short space of time. At the time of his death he was 50 years old.
