Interference by politician in Ratnapura into activities of Inland revenue officers

These days it is reported that these days the officers of the regional branches of the inland revenue department  scattered island wide are engaged in an exercise in opening new tax files to those businessmen who are liable to pay taxes to the government. It is learnt that this exercise is made even by working extra hours paying the

officers out of pocket allowances.

However when this exercise is underway a certain politician in the Ratnapura district while the officers of the regional inland revenue branch in Ratnapura were engaged in this exercise had wanted to interfere with the work of these officers.This matter has been exposed by the inland revenue common employees union.They have wanted an environment created free of such interferences by appealing to the president and the related authorities.In this regard they have drawn attention to bring about tp stop this type of interference.

This politician does not want files to be opened for his favorite businessmen.This help them to evade payment of taxes with political mileage.This has been conveyed to the related Minister in charge for intervention.
