Proposed Amaradeva musical school in Horana
It had been proposed by Minister media and Mass communication Gayantha Karunatilleke at the 88 birth celebration of music genius and icon Pandit Amaradeva's last December that a land would be allocated to construct a musical school under thane of Pandit Amaradeva.
The land thus allocated is in Horana which had been selected by the wife of Pandit Amaradeva,
Wimala and son Ranjan Amaradeva as Horana is a place where many artistes had emerged..This had been made in the month of January in 2016.

The land in Elakanda area in Horana is in extent of 08 acres.This land has all facilities in a soothing environment.This music school it is said is one which help a lot of aspiring musicians to be brought to fame.This musical school would have all areas of music similar to a performing arts university.
