Prime Minister Ranil's speech after COPE Report amidst Ha Hoo!

After recommendations related to the COPE Committee were forwarded in relation to the Central Bank Bond issue today in parliament by Chairman of the Committee MP Sunil Handunnetti, a heated situation arose in parliament. On that occasion there were instances of jeering and booeing during the speech made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingha and what he pointed out was that it was because of a system of Oversight Committee
that was present here to forward these kinds of recommendations, instead of a selected committee. 

He further said that what contributed to this transparency was the Yahapalana regime which is in force with President Maithripala Sirisena at its core and that fair investigations of this nature would not otherwise would have been brought forward. In that instance when the Prime Minister had spoken ostentatiously, much interruption and jeering were to be observed from the Opposition benches. That video, from below
