Harinda who left note saying he cannot pass exam because of personal reason -- Update

A host of information is being revealed about the medical student whose dead body was recovered last morning inside the hostel room of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Colombo. The deceased medical student Harinda Seneviratna had sat for the advanced Level Examination at Royal College, Moneragala and had secured three 'A's and become the first in that district and it was in the year 2009 that he had entered the Colombo Medical Faculty.

From then onwards he had been staying at the Colombo Medical Faculty hostel, going home to Bibile only once in several months and had attended to his educational studies in a casual manner as usual. Though he had been successfully carrying on with his education in the medical field in the earlier stages, towards the latter period he had got himself involved in some issues and had virtually messed up his educational matters, it is reported. His contemporaries in the medical field on the other hand had passed their final examination and had advanced thereby while he had not been in a position to pass the exam in the first shy. What he had tried in the past was to sit for the final exam together with the third group.

He had been staying in room 96 of the hostel all alone while in most other rooms the rooms were occupied by two students. Since he was a senior student he has had the permission of the hostel manager to stay in the room all by himself. Harinda who was isolated had not shared his personal problems with another. Harinda who went into his room and closed the door behind him had not kept company with his younger friends of the other group who were keen enough to inquire as to why he did not come out again.

Because of the strong foul odour that emanated from his room last morning, on suspicion by those in adjoining rooms they had inspected what had happened to Harinda. Near the dead body of Harinda who had died some days back were found a vial of poison and some saline bottles and he had also written a letter before committing suicide. He had written a letter which ran to close upon 10 pages where he had emphasised that until he was having these problems he is unable to put his head in order and pass the exam. Harinda who has conveyed the idea that he is left out alone in this world in the letter had stated, "it's enough if my dead body is shown only to my mother and father. Throw the body into the sea". This letter has been written by Harinda in the English Language. It is assumed that he may have done so with the motive of making the relevant party understand his problem.

Harinda's mother who has expressed her ideas about the incident has said that all what had happened is beyond her comprehension. What Harinda's sister had commented was that losing a most skillful brain as that of Harinda is a loss for the whole country and that she is not in a position to believe his separation which is similar to robbers taking him away. According to the autopsy held yesterday a verdict was given as a suicidal death due to poison entering his bloodstream
