Bolivian lady who had smuggled in "cocaine" worth Rs 4 billion nabbed at BIA
A suspicious looking lady a Bolivian national who had hidden inside her handbag very secretly with a covering of grease about 2.6 kilo grams of cocaine worth rupees four billion had been nabbed by the custom officers at the Katunayake
Bandaranaike International airport.The permission of courts has been obtained yesterday to detain her and to conduct investigations.
She is 48 year old Bolivian national had been previously suspected for the same offence in the republic of South Africa. It is reported that she had traveled from Brazil to Ethiopia and come to Sri Lanka via India.
It is reported that Sri Lanka is considered as a country where drugs could be sold and with India, Maldives and Pakistan the police has revealed that these Asian countries are targeted for sale of drugs.
The groups conducting investigations have found out the the drug dealers in this country are responsible for this.It has been said the cocaine is not something used extensively but only randomly.This has been said by the officials of the dangerous drugs control national board.
