A large number of visitors to see Duminda at Welikada not allowed

The administrative authorities of the Welikada prison acting according to the laid down regulations had not allowed many who had come to visit to see him.

In terms of the laid down prison regulations a person who is

sentenced to death could be seen by a relative or a friend only on a particular of the week.That is also for a period on half an hour on that day.

As Duminda Silva is serving a death sentence the authorities of the Welikada prison has made arrangements to strength the security at the main gates in the prison.
